Dr. Marpe Bam Receives 2017 Paper of the Year Award

Marpe Bam, Ph.D., a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Mitzi Nagarkatti’s lab, was the recipient of the 2017 Paper of the Year Award and a cash prize of $500 provided by the Molecular and Systems Biology Specialty Section at the Annual Meeting of the Society of Toxicology held in Baltimore, Maryland last month.

The title of the paper was “Dysregulated Immune System Networks in War Veterans With PTSD is an Outcome Of Altered Mirna Expression and DNA Methylation” and authors were Marpe Bam, Xiaoming Yang, Elizabeth Zumbrun, Yin Zhong, Juhua Zhou, Jack Ginsberg, Quinne Leyden, Prakash Nagarkatti and Mitzi Nagarkatti. It was published in the Volume 6, August 2016 issue of Scientific Reports. The Annual Meeting of the Society of Toxicology is attended by more than 8000 scientists from across the globe.
